Gather ‘round as players from the KMPerform School for Arts and Performance (KMP) present a short and spinetingling cautionary tale based on an old German/Austrian folk tale about a mythical raven who wreaks havoc for both farmers and children.
Baba Yaga
Shoe Shop Yard | Every 15 minutes
Who is Baba Yaga? Find out more about this powerful figure in Slavic folklore in a short play featuring the KMP players. This supernatural old woman lives in a hut that stands on chicken legs and helps or hinders those passing through her forest. Could she be lurking in the woods of OWW?
The Beast of Bray Road

Join our storyteller for an eerie tale about a wolf-like creature named for the rural farm road where it was first spotted in Elkhorn, WI, in the 1930s. Sightings have continued to this day!
Goat Men of the Kettle Moraine

What mysterious creatures are rumored to roam and protect the woods of the Kettle Moraine? Enjoy a bonfire tale about these half-man, half-goat creatures that may be hiding in the deep shadows of the forest.

Take a seat by the fireside for fun and friendly family stories that include American tall tales and the fairytales of Europe.
Victorian Séance

A supernatural experience awaits those brave enough to join in a 19th-century séance, facilitated by a medium who attempts to communicate with spirits from across the veil.
St. Dunstan and the Devil
Blacksmith Shop | Every 10 minutes
Listen to the fable of a blacksmith brave enough to shoe the Devil’s cloven hoof. This English folktale sheds light on the old tradition of hanging horseshoes over doors for good luck – and why it may help keep “Old Nick” at a distance. Doors to the Blacksmith Shop doors will close for each performance.

Enjoy this felt board “puppet” show based on a West African folk tale of a trickster god known as a rogue, a mischief maker, and a wise, lovable creature who triumphs over larger foes.
Tale of the Ridgeway Ghost
German Hill | Every half hour from 6:30 – 8:30 PM
Ready for a ghost story? Settle in as a storyteller spins the hair-raising tale of the Ridgeway Phantom, two gruesome 1840 murders, and why those unfortunate souls are rumored to haunt the town to this day. This scary yarn isn’t recommended for the littlest ghosts and ghouls.

Based on the Spiritualist College in Whitewater in the 19th century, you’ll enter the Four Mile tap room “study hall” to find the school is not exactly as it seems…A walkthrough will reveal common Spiritualist practices of the era, such as mesmerism, phrenology, metaphysical art, and more.

Our Halloween “graveyard” appears just once a year, ideal for a spirited game of hide and seek. Pick a ghost player – the “Ghost in the Graveyard” – to hide among the “gravestones” while others search. Then let the spectral fun begin!
